The 2014 Ryder Cup

The Ryder Cup is the most important golf competition in the world with the 12 best US golfers competing against the best European players. In contrast to most other golf tournaments, the Ryder Cup is held in a matchplay format (foursomes, fourballs and singles). With the European Team winning the 2012 edition in a heart-stopping finish, the whole golfing world is looking forward with anticipation to September next year for the 2014 Ryder Cup taking place for the first time at Gleneagles, Scotland. In total approx. 300,000 visitors are expected. We are proud to offer the Authorised Travel Package to the 2014 Ryder Cup.

The Open Championship

The Open Championship, outside of Britain often referred to as the British Open, is the oldest golf tournament in the world (first edition in 1860). The Open is the only major held in Europe – traditionally on a links course. The Golf Championship Trophy, one of the most famous trophys in international sports and commonly known as the Claret Jug, has been awarded to the winner since 1873. The upcoming event will take place at Royal Liverpool Golf Club at Hoylake from July 13 to 20, 2014.

Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles

The Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles is one of just three European Tour Events held in the “home of golf” – besides The Open. It was founded in 1999 as the Scottish PGA Championship and is is currently contested over the PGA Centenary Course, formerly called the Monarch’s Course, venue for the 2014 Ryder Cup matches. In 2013, the event will take place from August 22 to 25.

Arnold Palmer Invitational

The Arnold Palmer Invitational is one of only five tournaments given “invitational” status by the PGA Tour and is very popular within the players. 2007, the US golfing legend gave the tournament that is his name. The tournament’s price fund is $6.2m and is ever since its founding held at Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge in an Orlando suburb – next year it will be held from March 17 to 23.

Waste Management Phoenix Open

The Waste Management Phoenix Open is part of the US PGA Tour and attracts about 500,000 visitors each year – the best attended golf tournament globally. Since 1987, the event is organised at TPC of Scottsdale, more precisely on the Stadium Course. The most popular hole for visitors is number 16, with a “Amphitheatre” atmosphere dure to the massive stands for 25,000 visitors. Poor shots at the 16th hole receive boos, because the hole is very easy by the PGA’s standards. Good shots, however, are cheered for loudly. The crowd’s favourite is Arizona State alum Phil Mickelson. The event’s next edition will be from January 27 to February 02, 2014.

BMW International Open

The BMW International Open are currently the only European Tour event in Germany and attract approx. 60,000 visitors every year. Since 2012 it is held on the golf courses Munich Eichenried and Gut Lärchenhof close to Cologne in annual transition. Golf professionals and visitors alike enjoy the event because of its special atmosphere. After the 25th anniversary in Munich, the tournament will take place from June 19 to 22, 2014 at Gut Lärchenhof.
